Oakcreek Country Club
The Oakcreek Country Club
Located in the heart of Sedona, The Oakcreek Country Club opened for play in 1968 as a nine hole golf course. The second nine was completed in 1971. The world famous golf architects, Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Robert Trent Jones Jr., designed our superb layout that winds its' way through tree lined fairways and takes full advantage of the majestic Sedona red rock backdrop. The golf course challenges the professional golfer but is also a delight to play for all levels of golfers. This immaculately maintained golf course has five sets of tees and plays from 4,419 yards to 6,824 yards. Oakcreek Country Club is a traditional layout similar to those that you may find in the Midwestern United States. In the usual Trent Jones manner the fairways are classic tree lined doglegs with fairway bunkers strategically placed in the landing areas and greens which are all slightly elevated and surrounded with large swirling greenside bunkers. Large practice range, putting green, and short game area are available. Surrounded by the beauty of Sedona, OakCreek Country Club is one of the most beautiful golf courses, ranked 44th out of the top 50 Golf Courses in United States on Golf Advisor 2015 and #1 Rankings Arizona. Our professional staff is committed to make your visit with us the most enjoyable experience. Hit it long and straight!

Atlantic Dunes
Add Hilton Head To Your Bucket List
Being named one of the four top courses in the National Golf Course Owners Association's "Course of the Year" awards is akin to making college basketball's Final Four- a huge honor in itself. The Sea Pines Resort's new Atlantic Dunes by Davis Love III has gone a step farther, named "National Course of the Year" by the golf course owners over the other three finalists.
In the NCGOA's criteria, the spectacular reconstruction of Hilton Head Island's first golf course was "recognized as a course that epitomizes exceptional course quality and management excellence, while making important contributions to their communities and the game."
In other words, it's the best-of-the-best for 2017. The Sea Pines Resort and Atlantic Dunes will accept the award at the Golf Business Conference in San Antonio, Texas February 8th.
Even more remarkable is the fact that Atlantic Dunes was playable for all of 2017 after having to recover from Hurricane Matthew in October of 2016, just three days after the course opened.
"Atlantic Dunes is not only the perfect complement to our Harbour Town and Heron Point layouts, it is also a 'must play' golf experience on its own," says Cary Corbitt, Vice President of Sports & Operations.
Atlantic Dunes was the work of Love Golf Design. Victorious 2016 Ryder Cup captain (and 5-time RBC Heritage winner at Harbour Town), brother Mark and lead architect Scot Sherman entirely rebuilt many holes to accommodate modern shot values and frame scenic corridors to create a seaside ambience accented by coquina shells and seaside grasses. Atlantic Dunes incorporates elements of the surrounding beachfront along with native pines and oaks lining the fairways, with restoration of natural sand dunes blending into the fairways and green complexes.
The award marks the second time in three years that a Hilton Head Island course has made the Final Four (Palmetto Dunes' George Fazio Course was a finalist in 2015) and the third straight year a Hilton Head course was named Course of the Year in golf-crazy South Carolina, the first hurdle in the quest to become National Course of the Year (Sea Pines' Heron Point by Pete Dye was the #1 state course in 2016).
The other finalists for the 2017 National Course of the Year Award were Manchester Country Club in Bedford, New Hampshire, Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana and the Resort at Eagle Point Golf Club in Eagle Point, Oregon.

Ozarks National
Architect Duo Coore & Crenshaw Partner With Noted Conservationist Johnny Morris to Create Ozarks National
Big Cedar Lodge is redefining the perception of golf in the Ozarks as it unveils Ozarks National, a new 18-hole course designed by architects Bill Coore & Ben Crenshaw, in fall 2018. Designed in partnership with Johnny Morris, noted conservationist and founder of Bass Pro Shops, this new course will serve as a gateway to the Ozarks National Forest and cement Big Cedar Lodge's place as America's next great golf destination.
"This has been an incredible piece of land to work with and the vision behind the entire golf experience at Big Cedar Lodge fits perfectly into our approach to build natural golf courses that connect people to the local landscape," said Bill Coore, co-principal of Coore & Crenshaw.
Ozarks National will showcase golf in the manner in which it was intended. Measuring 7,036 yards from the back tees, the course represents the terrain of the Ozarks with incredible vistas and beautiful views. Ozarks National features strategic bunkering and slopes that enhance the player experience. The 18-hole layout features challenging carries and a variety of visually appealing approach shots that are highlighted by the native habitat. The course also includes interesting features, such as a 400-foot wooden beam and plank bridge, which connects the tee box and fairway of the 13th hole that stands 60-feet above a flowing creek.
Already a top-travel destination, Big Cedar Lodge has made a name for itself in the golf world with the 2014 re-opening of Top of the Rock, a Jack Nicklaus Signature design, and the renovation of Buffalo Ridge Springs, redesigned by Tom Fazio and recently ranked as the "Best Golf Course You Can Play in Missouri" by GOLF Magazine. The property is advancing Morris' vision for a world-class outdoor resort that combines a shared appreciation for conservation and a premier golf experience through Big Cedar Golf: Nature's Finest.
In 2017, Johnny Morris and golf icon Gary Player unveiled the Mountain Top Course - a 13-hole par-3 masterpiece that features dramatic limestone rock formations and some of the most breathtaking views in the region. Mountain Top will join Top of the Rock and Buffalo Ridge Springs as courses played during the 2018 Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge.
In 2019, projects crafted by Morris and 79-time PGA Tour winner Tiger Woods will be revealed. Payne's Valley, a 19-hole course built to showcase the region's natural beauty and to honor the late, local golf legend Payne Stewart, is the first public golf course in the United States by Woods' TGR Design.

Red Rock Golf Trail
Do Not Winterize Your Golf Game
Oh, wintertime in the Midwest! We all love the fresh fallen snow, curling up by the soft glow of the fireplace, terrible traffic on the interstate. Okay, maybe we don't love all aspects of winter in the Midwest. The truth is, as soon as the white stuff starts to fall some of us start counting down the days till we can hit the greens again.
Well there's no reason to winterize your golf game. In just a couple short hours you could be in one of the most spectacular year-round desert golf destinations, St. George, Utah. You've probably heard about the amazing courses there like Sand Hollow and the Troon property, Entrada. What you may not have heard is that daily flights to SGU make getting there a cinch. Just a short aeronautical hop, skip and a jump over the Rockies, puts you in a palm tree desert golf oasis, any time of the year.
Ten courses in a 10-mile radius make St. George an ideal place for golf groups and weekend getaways. Who wants to leave the hustle and bustle a metropolitan area just to sit in more traffic trying to get to a golf course? In St. George, all the courses are within a 15-minute drive. No more traffic, no more pollution, just blue skies, sunshine and open fairways. Sounds pretty good right about now, huh?
The other thing most Midwest golfers don't know is how amazingly affordable St. George Golf is. At most desert golf destinations you expect to pay upwards of $250 for the premier course in the area. Sand Hollow, Entrada, and Coral Canyon are about half that, even in peak season. The Red Rock Golf Trail is an extremely helpful service provided by the local tourism office to help interested golfers get the inside scoop on which courses to play and how to get some great deals on Stay & Play packages. They've got top quality hotels as well as condos and vacation rentals right on the course. So whether you're looking for the 5-star treatment at Entrada, or the quick low-cost weekend getaway, they've got you covered.
Don't be fooled by the affordable green fees. As golfers, we often shop golf courses like we shop hotels. You might search for a room between $50-$150. No one really wants the $50 room because you know exactly what you get for that. You scroll past to the properties around $100 because you're more confident that your overall experience will be worth it. The same is true of selecting courses when you travel to play golf. A $50 golf course must not be worth playing otherwise they'd charge more. On the Red Rock Golf Trail that just doesn't hold true. You can get on some of the most scenic and well-maintained courses for around $65: courses with elevated tees, fun green complexes and incredible scenery with red rock features literally built into every course. I mean seriously, just look at the pictures.
Don't get me wrong, there's some great things about wintertime in the Midwest, but sometimes you need a break, and what better way than to take in the year-round grandeur of St. George, Utah and the Red Rock Golf Trail. So when you're tired of the snow, just remember the only "white stuff" flying in St. George, are golf balls down the fairway.
